Design Approach

I aim to work with you to identify what you want from your project and then bring my creative and technical expertise to the table to develop an imaginative practical solution within your budget. I won’t tell you what to do or belittle your ideas, but I will try and enhance your home to give you the best possible outcome.

History

Originally formed in 2004, Redesign Architecture was a partnership between Nigel Turner and James McLeod based on a mutual passion for sustainable living. James continues to practice in Derby. I moved to Cornwall in 2014 and continue to practice in my own right.

Sustainability

I care about our environment and will aim to help you build in ecofriendly ways. I have been involved in cutting edge new build and refurbishment projects including ‘Passivhaus” technology. In 2016 I completed building my own house in Penzance designed to Passivhaus standards.

Drawings

Most people are not used to reading plans, that’s why I use 3D CAD software for all our work. So as well as all the drawings necessary for building, I will be able to show you around the outside and inside of your project before you start to pay a builder.

Fees

My fees are usually quoted on a lump sum basis for smaller projects, so you know exactly what you will be paying and at each stage of the project before I start work. I will also clearly explain possible fees for other consultants and local authority applications so you have the full picture. On larger projects we can offer either lump sum or percentage based fees.
